While practicing intensively on a daily basis, and continuously inventing new instruments as well as new techniques, creating new voices on his engineered guitars, his ambition is beyond the scope of a guitar player.

The techniques he has invented, one of which merges the voice of the Guqin with the tonal precision of the guitar and lends a sense of confidence to this ancient, conversational music of China, are all devoted to a single personal mission: to create a new language. It is a language where unregulated expression were truly possible, where people can communicate freely in a most primitive form, freed from musical laws and linguistic meaning, yet is more than enough to bridge the true feelings between the performer and the audience.
This is the essence and magic of music, which can be grasped only through immersive practice and a thorough truthfulness, not only to oneself but also to music.
